2006 Business Briefing What an exciting year for businesses in Koochiching County! The following is a highlight of a few of Koochiching County's "movers and shakers" during 2006: Page & Hill Forest Products of Big Falls, Minnesota was awarded a $300,000 grant through USDA Rural Development's Value-Added Producer Grant Program. Grants may be used for planning activities and for working capital for marketing value-added agricultural products and for farm-based renewable energy. Eligible applicants are independent producers, farmer and rancher cooperatives, agricultural producer groups, and majority-controlled producer-based business ventures. |

Medical Community Highlighting Area's Benefits
The International Falls medical community, International Falls Clinic and Falls Memorial Hospital (FMH), have begun an aggressive recruiting campaign for current healthcare openings. Sheila Hart, International Falls Clinic Administrator, along with Sage Hemstad, FMH Director of Communications, have partnered to bring awareness to the benefits of working in a rural community. |
