The JOBZ program is
a state program created in 2004 to stimulate development in rural areas
by establishing zones where qualified businesses can locate and be
exempt from paying specific local and state taxes for a period of 12 years.
Koochiching County was granted four JOBZ Subzones totaling 128 acres in
four locations: 20 acres in the Northome Business Park; 20 acres in Big
Falls; 40 acres of the KEDA Business Park three miles east of
International Falls; and 8 acres of the International Falls Business
Park.
The JOBZ Program provides a number of tax benefits to qualified
businesses including state and local sales and use taxes, property
taxes, motor vehicle sales taxes, corporate taxes, as well as job
credits.
